Myrtle Beach Boat Tours

See the Atlantic bottlenose dolphin (and plenty of other sea life!) in its natural habitat on a Myrtle Beach boat tour! Myrtle Beach Dolphin Cruises offers cruises up and down the Intracoastal Waterway and into the Atlantic Ocean, where your captain will use a trained eye to locate a pod of dolphins for you to observe. Book your Myrtle Beach dolphin tour here.

If you’re looking for more wildlife from the water, you can venture beyond the beach with a Waccamaw River Nature and Wildlife Tour. This slow-paced cruise highlights the Waccamaw River, Intracoastal Waterway, and the creeks and swampland that surround Myrtle Beach. Spend some quiet time with your new spouse, and immerse yourself in the remote beauty of the Waccamaw River.

Mini Golf in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach is home to an impressive number of miniature golf courses with unique themes and challenging terrains. Captain Hook’s Adventure Golf, Mt. Atlanticus Minotaur Golf, and Hawaiian Rumble Miniature Golf are some of our favorites, nearby. Find a themed course that fits your personality as a couple and make the most of this classic Myrtle Beach date night idea.

Myrtle Beach Golf

Spend time during your Myrtle Beach honeymoon to playing a full round of golf on a course redesigned by the iconic Arnold Palmer: Kings North at Myrtle Beach National. This local favorite course is home to a par-5 6th hole, nicknamed “The Gambler” for its tricky island fairways.

With more than 50 golf courses along the Grand Strand, you’re sure to find something to fit your play style.

Brookgreen Gardens

Brookgreen Gardens is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind garden in Myrtle Beach. Depending on when you honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, Brookgreen Garden may be hosting one of their iconic events. Fall honeymooners can attend Brew at the Zoo, an evening of local brews and private zoo tours to benefit the Lowcountry Zoo, at Brookgreen Gardens. Summer Lights: Art by Night takes place throughout the summer, with thousands of lights arranged in the gardens to make the already-gorgeous gardens even more romantic.

The most sought-after event at Brookgreen Gardens is Nights of a Thousand Candles, a winter event that sells out in a flash but rewards attendees with an unforgettable holiday experience in the gardens, glowing with the light of more than a thousand hand-lit candles. As one of the most popular romantic things for couples to do in Myrtle Beach, many couples leave engaged!

Wine Tastings and Tours

Let the creators of Twisted Sisters Wines lead you on a personalized wine tasting for your romantic Myrtle Beach date night. La Belle Amie Vineyard is a romantic setting, with delicious wine adding to the atmosphere. Vineyard experts will tailor a wine tasting to suit your palate, adding a special layer of exclusivity to your experience.

Duplin Winery is famous for their sweet Muscadine wines, a Southern delicacy. You’ll sample up to 10 wines during your tasting to find your favorites, along with a gourmet cheese dip and handmade gourmet crackers.

Taste the flavors of the South at Carolina Vineyards Winery. Made with locally-grown fruits, wines at Carolina Vineyards range from dry to sweet and boast an array of flavor profiles. Find your favorite and take home a bottle to open on your anniversary!

Amusement Park Thrills

Is your idea of romance a little friendly competition? Check out Broadway Grand Prix, a recreation complex in Myrtle Beach that holds seven go-kart tracks, an arcade, two mini golf courses, and more. Race for bragging rights or up the stakes with a kiss for the winner!

Ripley’s Aquarium

A trip to Ripley’s Aquarium is an amazing Myrtle Beach date night idea. Take your time seeing over 10,000 sea creatures in this tranquil aquarium, a relaxing change of pace from the excitement of Myrtle Beach. Touch horseshoe crabs and stingrays, journey under Danger Reef on the 300-foot moving path, and get the chance to meet a penguin or sloth with Ripley’s additional activities.

Barefoot Landing

Visit Barefoot Landing on your Myrtle Beach honeymoon for shopping, dining, and entertainment all in one. Shop local boutiques and gift shops for one-of-a-kind gifts, accessories, clothing, decor, jewelry, and more. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, sit down for a meal at one of the iconic Barefoot Landing restaurants serving lunch and dinner daily with menus featuring everything from pasta and seafood to burgers and fries. Barefoot Landing hosts live music and entertainment, festivals, and other events regularly – check their calendar here

Broadway at the Beach

The iconic Broadway at the Beach complex is home to attractions like Ripley’s Aquarium, Legends in Concert, WonderWorks, and the SkyWheel. From sharing a milkshake at one of their many restaurants to ziplining across its large lake, Broadway at the Beach is a date night destination in Myrtle Beach that can’t be beat!

Local Spas

As a top vacation destination, Myrtle Beach knows how to relax. Here are a few spas that the locals swear by:

Celestial Spa on Cloud 9 is a perfect spa for couples in Myrtle Beach, having established themselves as the premier spa for couples services in the area. Celestial Spa offers a Togetherness couples massage, a full body massage with hot stones and steamed towels, and a luxurious Over the Moon package that spans three hours of bliss and soothing treatments.

Majestic Massages of Myrtle Beach offers a massage designed for two, complete with candlelight and fragrant oils to add to the romantic ambiance. This is a combination of Swedish, deep tissue, and hot stone massage, sure to relax any lingering stress from your wedding and let you fully enjoy your honeymoon.

Art Museum

Looking for a romantic date idea in Myrtle Beach? Visit the Franklin G. Borroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum. While this next part may seem less than romantic, it will be worth it: split up and go opposite directions from your partner with an agreed-upon time to return. Stroll the museum and find an exhibit that you’re excited to show your date, whether it reminds you of them, made you smile, or stumped you. When you find each other again, tour the museum as usual until you come to the exhibits you chose and talk about them together.

Dinner and a Show

Dinner theater is an art in Myrtle Beach. Solve a 1920s murder mystery at Riga Tony’s, cheer for your knight in a jousting tournament at Medieval Times, feel the heat at the Polynesian Fire Luau, or see daring seafaring stunts at Pirates Voyage. You can go out to dinner anywhere, but nowhere does dinner and a show like Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach is a golfer’s paradise, with numerous nationally-recognized courses to choose from. From upscale, championship-caliber courses to laid back greens, you’re sure to find something to fit your play style. Here is our list of the top 10 best Myrtle Beach golf courses!

One of the best Myrtle Beach golf courses

Tidewater Golf Club | 1400 Tidewater Dr.

Tidewater Golf Club sits between the Intracoastal Waterway and Cherry Grove, just north of Myrtle Beach. With rolling greens, plush fairways, and serene views of the ocean and surrounding waterways, this course instantly became a golfer favorite after its 1990 opening. Tidewater Golf Club was designed by South Carolina native Ken Tomlinson, keeping the area’s already-intricate landscape in mind to inspire his design.

Barefoot Resort | 4980 Barefoot Resort Bridge Rd.

The four courses that make up Barefoot Resort are nicknamed the Fantastic Four for a reason – all were designed by all-star architects, guaranteeing a great game experience. “Bump and run” on the Norman Course, play on the championship-caliber Fazio Course, brave the treacherous challenge of the Dye Course or enjoy the turtleback greens of the Love Course. No matter which course you choose, they all boast unique designs sure to challenge even the most seasoned golfer.

Long Bay Golf Club | 350 FoxTail Dr.

This Founders Collection course features a signature design by The Golden Bear himself, Jack Nicklaus. Long Bay Golf Club is located just outside of North Myrtle Beach, off Highway 9 in Longs. Nicklaus’ design preserved many of the area’s natural elements, including dogwoods, pines, and maples, streams, and ponds.

Players will find a variety of bunker styles, thick grass on the fairways, elevation differences throughout the course, and beautiful green surfaces that putt true. Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” awarded Long Bay Golf Club 4.5 Stars.

Grande Dunes Resort Club | 8700 Golf Village Ln.

Located north of the Myrtle Beach airport, Grande Dunes is situated on a high bluff along the Intracoastal Waterway and is one of the longest courses in America. The National Golf Course Owners Association of America has even once named this course “National Golf Course of the Year.”

The Grande Dunes course is known for its expansive Bermuda grass fairways and modestly contoured greens. In addition to the spectacular links, the course also features a Mediterranean-style clubhouse with delicious food and magnificent views.

King’s North at Myrtle Beach National | 4900 National Dr.

King’s North, one of three courses at Myrtle Beach National, is a local favorite. Arnold Palmer redesigned this course in 1996. The highlight of this iconic course is the par-5 6th hole, nicknamed “The Gambler” for its tricky island fairways. Myrtle Beach National is part of the Founders Collection and is located on Highway 501, inland from Myrtle Beach.

Tournament Players Club Myrtle Beach | 1199 TPC Blvd.

Despite the name, Tournament Players Club Myrtle Beach is actually located just south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet. TPC of Myrtle Beach originally opened in 1999, and hosted the Senior PGA Championship just a year later in 2000. Home of the Dustin Johnson Golf School, TPC is a championship setup with a Tom Fazio layout that features tree-lined holes, over 60 bunkers, and secluded fairways. TPC is a par-72 course with PGA Tour-caliber elements.

Caledonia Golf + Fish Club | 369 Caledonia Dr., Pawleys Island

Century-old live oaks draped with Spanish moss greet you at the entrance to Caledonia Golf + Fish Club, a par-70 course in Pawleys Island. The beautiful trees continue throughout the fairway, with expansive greens lined by ponds and streams. Bunkers keep this course secluded from the surrounding neighborhood, providing a Lowcountry golf experience like no other.

True Blue Golf Club | 900 Blue Stem Dr., Pawleys Island

True Blue Golf Club has been a Pawleys Island favorite since its opening in 1998. This course features a Mike Strantz signature design, taking into account the original structure of the land when creating this 18-hole par-72 course. True Blue also features an 18-acre practice facility and is known for the fun and unique layout of its fairways with dramatic elevation changes.

Willbrook Plantation | 426 Tidewater Cir., Pawleys Island

Among Lowcountry marshes and wetlands sits Willbrook Plantation. This 18-hole course is a Dan Maples design, attracting golfers to the Pawleys Island area since 1988. The first hole is one of the toughest in the state, but the rest of the course rewards with beautiful views and water on 15 of the 18 holes.

Heritage Golf Club | 478 Heritage Dr., Pawleys Island

Heritage Golf Club is part of the Legends Golf Resort family. Located along the Waccamaw River on the southern end of Pawleys Island, this course boasts a Dan Maple design with giant magnolia trees, live oaks, freshwater lakes, and marshes between the greens. This is a par-71 course with a challenging second hole – a long and narrow par-5 guarded by trees, traps, and water. The club also features a driving range, putting practice green, and a clubhouse.

Located just a short drive from some of the best Myrtle Beach golf courses, Coral Beach Resort is the perfect place to unwind after a day on the links. Our oceanfront resort in the heart of the Grand Strand offers the perfect on-site amenities to complete your Myrtle Beach golf vacation. March along the Grand Strand means a Myrtle Beach spring break is on the way, and with it comes warmer weather and spring’s cheerful blossoms, lively activities, dining alfresco, and fun events.

Temperatures reach about 80 degrees during the months of March and April in Myrtle Beach, with an average of only five rainy days in both months. We might be a little biased, but we believe a Myrtle Beach spring break getaway is the perfect excuse to travel! From waters ports to late-night dancing, here is a list of our favorite Myrtle Beach spring break activities, dining, shopping, and nightlife.

Myrtle Beach Spring Break Activities

Family kayaking on the ocean during spring break in Myrtle Beach

Kayaking in Myrtle Beach

While spring might still be a bit cool for a dip in the ocean, kayaking is a great way to be on the water without getting too wet. See a side of the Grand Strand that most tourists miss completely when you view it from the water. The area boasts many kayaking companies, but we recommend tours by Black River Outdoors.

Their Sandy Island/Cypress Swamp Tour winds guests through portions of the Waccamaw River to see birds, turtles, and even alligators, and includes a 45-minute island stop. Their Salt Marsh Tour, Huntington Beach State Park Tour, and Full Moon Tour all take guests through the salt marsh of Murrells Inlet and toward the jetties. Tours range from 2–4 hours. Visit their website for tour details, rates, and to book your spring break adventure.

Meet-up locations are near the Waccamaw River in Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, and Conway and vary for each tour. Call (843) 546-4840 for more information.

The SkyWheel

This Myrtle Beach icon is definitely one you need to check out during your spring break visit. The SkyWheel towers nearly 200 feet over the Atlantic Ocean and gives you a view of miles of the coast. You can take in vistas of the beautiful Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and ocean with your family even if the spring weather is cool, thanks to the SkyWheel’s fully enclosed, climate-controlled gondolas. The SkyWheel is open daily all year around at 11:00 a.m., and specialty experiences, like VIP rides and Sunrise Flights are also available. Purchase tickets online or at the box office on-site.

The SkyWheel is located at 1110 N. Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, just 1.7 miles from Coral Beach Resort & Suites.

Golf in Myrtle Beach

It wouldn’t be spring break in Myrtle Beach without teeing up at one of the area’s top golf courses. The Grand Strand is known for its celebrity-designed courses, and with more than 75 to choose from, you really can’t go wrong golfing in Myrtle Beach! This is a great daytime activity, especially in the south’s beautiful spring weather.

If you’re traveling with family on your Myrtle Beach spring break getaway, many courses allow kids to play for free. Call each course to learn more.

Topgolf

For even more golfing fun, check out Topgolf Myrtle Beach this spring break. Practice your swing and long drive playing interactive games, and enjoy time with friends. Each bay will accommodate a group of 6 for dinner, drinks, and golfing, and additional bays may be reserved for larger groups.

Numerous tables and lounge areas afford views of golfing bays and TVs throughout the venue to make sure you don’t miss a thing. Topgolf also features a rooftop terrace with a fire pit. Hours and pricing vary by season and number of guests. Visit their website to view packages, pricing, and book your bay in advance.

Topgolf is located at 2850 Robert M Grissom Parkway, about 3.5 miles from Coral Beach Resort.

Local Tip: Visit Topgolf on a Tuesday for half-priced gameplay!

Myrtle Beach Paddle Boarding

Another great way to enjoy Myrtle Beach waterways in the spring is on a stand-up paddleboard. Local company Jack’s Surf Lessons provides lessons, tours, and rentals for stand-up paddleboards. Two-hour lessons provide you with fundamentals for paddling and balancing, guaranteeing you will be up and paddling by the end of the class. Semi-private lessons are $85 per person, but group discounts are available. Guided tours are $55 per person and last two hours along the scenic marshes of Murrells Inlet or the Waccamaw River at sunrise or sunset (your choice). To embark on your own Myrtle Beach adventure during spring break, rent a SUP. Rentals include the paddleboard, paddle, and leash. Prices range from $25 per hour to $75 per day (multi-day discounts available).

Jack’s Surfing Lessons are located at 3200 S. Ocean Boulevard (on the north side of the Springmaid Pier), less than 2 miles from Coral Beach Resort. Meeting places for paddleboard tours are dependent on the weather, tide, and conditions, and are arranged at the time of the tours. Call (843) 647-7471 for more information.
